Wizard - 1 Board Controller (I)

The Wizard - 1 Board is a small 9 Volt dc powered interface board that will record and playback up to 5 minutes of servo motion for 4 standard 5 Vdc hobby R/C type servos and control 4 digital switched ON and OFF outputs at +4.5 Vdc (100 mA) per channel.

The Wizard - 1 board incorporates many features such as looping playback servo motion with variable delay between loops. An auto start-up on power option and on board connector for remote activation switching such as a PIR sensor, contact switch or mat pressure pad to initiate playback.

Recording sessions are built up on a channel by channel process - no complex programming is required. During recording, all previously recorded channels are re-played to aid synchronization the current channel being programmed. Programming is easily done, with a set of push button keys and control potentiometer built onto the board.
No host computer or other programming device is needed to operate the board, Board has 7-bit Resolution.
Programmable Recording time - 5 Minutes

Wizard - 3 Board Controller (III)

The Wizard 3 board will record and playback up to 4 separate tracks for up to 8 R/C type servos channels and 8 digital channels. The maximum recording time per track is 3 minutes for multiple track operation or 6 minutes for single track operation. The card incorporates features such as looping action with variable delay between loops, auto start-up on power up, a connection interface for a PIR, remote switch or pressure pad to initiate playback and the ability to daisy-chain several
cards together. The card may be connected to the optional Sound Board Pro to provide audio accompaniment to the tracks.

Recording tracks are built up in real time on a channel-by-channel basis no programming is required.

During recording all previously recorded channels are re-played to aid synchronization.

NOTE: Controller requires 2 Power Supplies(1-9VDC and 1-5 or 6VDC)

The Wizard- 4 Controller Board or Programmable
4 - Channel Relay module will record and playback up to 25 minutes of controlled ON and OFF action for1 - 4 Outputs Relays.

The board incorporates such features as looping playback, variable delay between programmed routines, auto loop, auto start-up on power up, a connection terminal for remote switch activation by manual switch, PIR sensor, pressure pad, etc, to activate playback.

Recording sessions are built up on a channel-by-channel basis - no complex programming needed, or connection to a host computer to program routines. Board has many other features including on-board programing and function selection switches, Sync output, EEPROM protection, direct digital output pins, optional user selected jumper relay activation or power down setting.

The controller board will operate two servo channels each with there own unique random servo motion outputs and one channel with variable speed and time pulse motion servo output.
The controller allows for setting the range of each servo's travel motion limits, along with adjustable servo speeds and random time rate features.

The Wizard - 7 is a 3- channel interface board that will operate a standard 12 Vdc motor in clockwise and counter clockwise rotation with speed control and activate 2 on - board relays when connected to a standard servo controller board or R/C receiver. This interface connects to any of the Wizard, Puppet boards or a R/C receiver and uses a servo output to operate in automated mode.

The on-board relays can be operated independently with latching on and off features or the two relays can be controlled together by moving an on-board jumper, allowing a single servo control channel to operate the relays as momentary on and off relays.

When this interface is connected to a Wizard, Puppet board the interface can be programmed for automated playback.

Vdc Motor driver is rated 12 Vdc @ 5 Amp continuous use.
Relays are rated at 30 Vdc @ 2 Amp load each.

Wizard - 8 Board - Programmable Relay and Sound (VIII)

The Wizard - 8 board provides a single channel, user programmable 5 - minute digital output (relay) combined with a digital 4 - minute duration user record IC sound chip. The supplied 4 - minute ISD sound chip has great frequency response up to 3.4 KHz and a audio sample rate of 8.0 KHz. Audio can be re-recorded up to 100,000 times and can be stored up to 100 years.

One - Digital channel - either 0/4.5V @ 50mA output or on-board relay rated 30V @ 2A with wire terminal strip.
One - 4 minute quality digital IC sound chip.
Digital recording to Sound IC chip is through a direct line input (Computer sound card or output port, CD player or any sound source output).
Potentiometer to adjust the time delay between loops in playback of recorded sound and relay action ON and Off.

The top right-hand bank of input pins are the Digital sound-channels 1-8 audio playback select pins, also included the random and sequential play options as found on the sound 60 board

The other 8 banks of pin-sets along the back edge are for selecting which sound track goes to which output- jack matrix. ( remote amp and speaker )

Pin-set 1 (on the extreme left) relates to sound track 1- if you want sound track 1 to play-back through outputs 2, 6 and 8 you would put a jumper over pins 2, 6 and 8 on pin-set 1.

If you want to play sound -track 2 through outputs 1,3 and 5 then you would put jumpers over pins 1, 3 and 5 on pin-set 2 etc.

  Wizard - 10 Sound and 1-8 Ch output Board

Programmable board will switch 8 different digital recorded audio signals to 1-8 different output channels.

User can program board to switch 8 different audio signal to any of 1-8 output channels.
Any combination of audio out channels can be activated on and off.
Controller is easy to program and setup.
Board comes with 4 minute Audio chip on board, but can be switched to 8 or 12 minute chip upgrade option.

There is 1 audio jack input for recording 8 different sounds into the Digital sound chip directly by an audio source and 8 on board line output channels jacks to remote amps and speakers setups.

There is the standard record/playback mode jumper selection along with led indicators. Board can even be set to play random or sequence sound playback when triggered

You can adjust the play-back output select jumpers at any time- they are read just before starting any new play-back.

When the audio is combined with any of the Wizard Relay boards, the system becomes an automated audio sound effects and switcher system.

The Wizard 15 I/O router board provides a convenient way of matching up to 8 inputs with up to 8 outputs at 5V TTL levels. The board can accommodate normally high or low inputs and outputs and one single input may be routed to any or all of the output lines. A small led by each output indicates the current status.

The AutoTalk -E2 board is similar in function with all the exact features of the original AutoTalk board developed several years ago for professional animatronic clients, in that it moves an R/C type servo in response to either an audio input signal from any standard CD player, tape recorder, sound source, but now has jumper setting for greater sensitivity in using the board from a sound source with low signal input, such as found on a digital sound chips or direct connected mic amplifier and dynamic microphone setup. The board has an on-board voltage regulator for using a variety of voltage sources including the use of a battery for remote applications, a quick connector for connecting power, LED power status indicator and enhanced output to operate a standard R/C servo with greater response. The controller includes the function to set both the servo end travel points, an important feature when working with various mouth jaw sizes, the servo arm direction of travel can also be quickly changed by an on-board jumper and the sensitivity of the audio input signal through the improved on-board gain control have also been enhanced for greater response.

The ANIMATE BOARD is a 9 Volt dc powered full feature Sound, Motion and Switched ON / OFF output control interface board.

The controller has on-board sound recording and playback in to a 20 second sound chip with microphone and speaker output and up to 40 seconds of recorded and playback motion saved to a EEPROM for 4 standard +5 Vdc servos and control of 4 digital switched ON and OFF outputs at + 4.5 Vdc (100 mA) per channel action.

The Animate board incorporates many features such as looping playback servo motion with variable delay between loops. An auto start-up on power option and on board connector for remote activation switching such as a PIR sensor, contact switch or mat pressure pad to initiate servo playback and on- board sound output.

Recording sessions are built up on a channel by channel process - no complex programming is required.

Switch / VDC Input Servo Position Controller

This board was designed to allow the manual positioning of a servo in 3 user pre-programmed positions ­ Left, Center and Right positions.
When VDC input (5-12V DC) Manual Switch, Remote relay or RF system relay closure is received at the 2 input control connectors on the board ,the servo travel is sent to that position, left, right, and center represented by the inputs. When no input is present, the servo will go to the center position and hold. Each servo position can be held at, or momentary reached and moved on.
User can pre-program each of the 3 servo end positions ( L, C, R ) which is recorded and stored on board EEprom directly through on-board electronics.

Power to the servo can be supplied by the board itself, or from an external power supply connected at the Servo Power Connector. The board power connection configuration also allows for a servo with different voltage requirements beyond 5 Vdc to be used.

The board requires 7.5 ­ 24V DC which is attached to the board at the 2.1mm barrel connector or the Alternate Power Connector.

Switch or remote relay applications require a 5-12 Vdc source pass through to controller board inputs.
The control voltage for a remote switch, remote relay can come from the on board power connector or by a separate power source.

10 Position 2-Channel Servo Switched Controller

This unique board moves 2-R/C servos to user set positions 1-10 when switches 1-10 are activated

A 10 channel switch input board connected to the main controller board allow you to use manual switches or the closure of relays (Dry Contact) to move the 2 servos to 1-10 pre recorded positions.

User can set the servo positions (1-10) of each servo and then record the positions to one of the 1-10 switch input channels.
When a switch (1-10) is activated, the 2 servo will move to that position recorded and hold until the next switch is activated with the servo moving to that position.

An optional Switch Input / Solid State Relay board is also available. This board will position the 2 servos to the pre recorded position and will also turn on a Solid State Relay for the specific switch activated. The SS relays can be use to trigger a specific sound channel on an audio board, activate other control boards, trigger special effects or lighting effects, etc. The SS relays can be set to trigger for only a few mill-seconds or stay on for a period of X time, by adjusting an on-board potentiometer for the SS relay outputs,

4-Ch Analog / 2-Ch Digital Programmable Output Controller

This board was designed to allow the control, recording and playback of four 0-10V analog and two 5V or 10V (all at 50 mA or less) digital outputs in manual or programmed control.
Up to 13 minutes of activity can be recorded and played back.

The playback can be automatically repeated when finished after a delay time period, set by the user, from 1 second to 10 minutes. Playback can be triggered by pressing the on-board Play button or by dry contact closure connected to the Remote Trigger terminal blocks on either the Main Board or the Daughter Board. Status LEDs on both boards indicate the mode (Manual, Playback or Record) that the board is in.

The four 0-10V analog outputs are controlled by 4 slide potentiometers on the Main Board. For each of the analog outputs, there is a green LED that will change brightness as the voltage changes. There are 2 small tactile switches on the Main Board that control the 2 digital outputs on the Daughter Board.
The output of these 2 digital outputs can either be 5V or 10V as set by the 2 small slide switches on the Daughter Board. When the outputs are on, an associated red LED on the Daughter Board lights.
The Daughter Board is connected to the Main board by a 6 foot ribbon cable.

The Analog Outputs can be connected to Solid State Dimmer Modules and the Digital Outputs can be connected to Solid State Relays to create an AC Voltage based Lighting and Effects Control Center.

This small board will be found invaluable for projects and models using R/C type servos.

In Automatic mode, Servo-Check produces a pulse stream that makes the servo traverse smoothly through 90 degree at a speed determined by the potentiometer setting (approx 0.5 to 5 secs / 90 degree ).

Advanced users can add 2 standard 10k linear potentiometers to adjust the end stops for a simple, stand-alone animatronic controller module.

In Manual mode, the servo position is fully adjustable from 0 to 90 degrees by using the thumbwheel. Manual mode generates a standard servo pulse stream. The width of the pulses varies between 1.0msecs and 2.0 msecs depending on the position of the potentiometer. Turning the potentiometer fully to either end of its travel will cause the LED to light indicating that either a 1.0 or 2.0 pulse width which should correspond with a servo angle of either 0 or 90 degrees. Additionally, as the potentiometer is turned, the LED will light at positions corresponding to15, 30, 45, 60 degrees and 75 degrees , thereby providing a field calibration setup.

Works from standard 5-6 VDC supply and includes 3-pin header for all standard servos.

Solid State Relay Board

This unique system consists of 2 boards ­ a Programming Board and a Playback Board. It is designed to allow the user to program the length of time that a 3 Amp Solid State relay stays on and stays off once triggered. The user can also program the on and off cycle to repeat continuously. The relay on time can range from 1 second to 10 minutes. The off time can range from 1 second to 30 minutes. When programming, the Programming Board is connected to the Playback Board via a 12" ribbon cable. After programming, the Programming Board can be removed from the Playback Board. The Playback Board will then be in Playback Mode, awaiting a trigger (dry contact closure). Once triggered, the playback Board will operate the SS relay. If the Programming Board remains attached to the Playback Board, the LCD will display the relay status and count down the time remaining for the on and off times. All settings will be stored in non-volatile memory. Board will work on 7.5 to 24VDC. The status of the SS relay is also indicted by a red LED next to the relay.

Digital Programmable Solid State Relay Controller

Digital Relay Board can be programmed with a Delay time, a Relay On Time and a Loop function. All settings are stored in non-volatile memory. There is a 4-Line by 16 Character back-lit LCD that is the user interface for programming the different modes of operation. These modes are set up and initiated using a menu-driven display with input being made by on board pushbuttons.
The board requires 7 to 24V DC at least 100 mA power supply.
The LCD will show the Delay Time and count down information for relay activation when triggered in playback.

4- Channel Servo Recorder and
Stand-alone Playback System

This unique controller board set consists of 4 boards, a 4-Channel Servo Recorder with remote attached Joystick or optional Slide Potentiometer Board. A stand-alone 4-Channel Servo Playback Board and a quick connect remote extension Servo Connection Board.

The 4-Channel Servo Recorder and Joystick board will record up to 4 servo signals simultaneously and store them on individual on-board EEPROMS when activated. Up to 10 minutes of servo activity can be recorded to the EEPROM's. The mini joystick board or optional slide potentiometer board make it easy to puppet the 4 servos in smooth sync movements and start the record board for the servo actions to be recorded for later playback.

Once you have recorded your servo routine program, you then flip a switch on the Recorder Board, press a button to download all 4 servo pre programs you just created to a single 8-pin EEPROM. This EEPROM is then removed from the Recorder Board and placed on the stand-alone Playback Board. The EEPROM is on an easy to use board adapter that also has an area to write a label of what the EEPROM holds . With the easy to use EEPROM board setup, you can quickly program the same show on other multiple EEPROMs, and place them into another stand-alone Playback Board or collect different servo show routines on sets of EEPROMs, drop in these earlier pre-recorded EEPROM and have a different and new show runing on the playback board in seconds.

The Playback Board will play the servo routine back from the EEPROM whenever it is triggered by a dry contact closure, manual switch, or various sensors. There is an adjustable potentiometer on the Playback Board that will prevent the board from being re-trigger for 0 to 6 minutes after the program completes playing.

The Stand-alone Playback board also has a1-Channel Solid State Relay (2 amp) on board that will activate every time the board is triggered, There is an adjustable potentiometer on-board that lets you set the relay ON time. This relays is great for triggering other attached controller boards, MP3 sound boards or activating other effects, devices connected.

The remote extension Servo Connection Board makes it easy to connect the 4 servos to the recorder or playback board without having to un-connect and re-connect the individual servo wires as you move between recorder and playback boards. This extension board makes it easy to install a set of servos and connect to a playback board or recorder board at a different location.

The optional Slide Potentiometer board can also be used in place of the Joystick board. The slide potentiometer has 4-Ch slides that can be moved as needed up and down to position the servos. The board connects to the main logic board by an 8 foot ribbon cable.

0-10 Vdc Programmable Output Controller

A unique 0-10 Vdc programmable output controller board allows user to control DC voltage output in several different ways. The output voltage is in 0.5V increments from 0 to 10V DC at up to 25 mA. There is a 4-Line by 16 Character back-lit LCD that is the user interface for programming the different modes of operation. There are 8 modes of operation available to the user. These modes are set up and initiated using a menu-driven display with input being made by 4 on board pushbuttons.
The board requires 12 to 24V DC at least 100 mA power supply.
Programmable Recording time - 10 Minutes

1- Channel Servo / Potentiometer Analog Converter Board

This board was designed to output either 0 ­ 5V or 0 ­ 10V at up to 80 mA using input from a single servo signal or a remote potentiometer (slide or rotary). The input source and the voltage range is selected with small slide switches located on the board.

Operation:
Attach power (12V 500 mA min) to the board at either the 2.1 mm barrel power connector or the 2-position terminal block adjacent to it. If using a servo signal for control, attach your servo input to the 3-pin Servo Input header. The white (or yellow) wire for the input should be on the pin furthest from the edge of the board. If you are using a servo signal to control the output, switch the Input Select Switch to the "S" position (Servo). If using one of the remote potentiometers for control, attach the remote board to the main board with the 3' ribbon cable and switch the Input Select Switch to the "P" position (Pot). Switch the Output Selection Switch to the range that you want, 0 ­ 5V or 0 ­ 10V. These switches can be changed at any time. Attach your loads to the outputs. Observe the polarity and make sure that they will not draw more than 80 mA. Turn on power to the board. The red Board Power LED will light on the Main Board and the Remote Pot Board (if attached). The output will now respond to the Servo or Pot input signal.

This board allows the user to simultaneously trigger 1-3 solid state relays after a random interval has expired. The random time interval can be limited to any time within 1 second to 15 minutes. The random time interval starts when a dry contact closure occurs at the Trigger 1 terminal block.
When the random time interval has expired, 1-3 relays activate. The time that each relay is activated is programmed in by the user and can be anywhere between 1 second and 15 minutes.
When the last relay has shut off, the user has the option of looping this procedure after a programmed delay period of 0-15 minutes. When the delay period expires, the board picks a new random delay period between one second and the maximum value programmed in by the user and the cycle repeats until the Menu button is pressed or power to the board is reset. At any time during the random time interval, the user can activate Trigger Terminal, T2 which will cause the board to immediately jump out of the random time interval and activates 1-3 relays.

3 Input 12-Channel Selectable Solid State Relay Board

Description:
This unique 2 board setup was designed to allow the user to select and control 1 of 12 Solid State 2 Amp Relays using 3 inputs. When the process is started, the 12 channels are cycled through one at a time at a rate of 1 per second to 1 per 3 minutes. This rate is controlled by an on-board potentiometer on the Main board. Once the desired channel is indicated, and a second switch is activated, the scanning can stop and the associated relay can be activated by a third switch. All switch inputs are dry contact, normally open terminals to which a contact closure can be attached. When finished with the current relay, the scanning can be resumed by activating switch one again. A Remote board is attached to the Main board via a 6' ribbon cable. This board has indicators showing which of the current channel is active and when the associated SSR is activated. Control switches can be attached to either the Main board or the Remote LED status board.

Operation:
Once power is applied to the board, a green LED on both the Main board and the Remote board will come on. The board is now waiting for a contact closure at the Start terminal block. Once this is received, the board starts scanning at the rate set by the on board potentiometer. A yellow LED on the Remote board indicates which channel is currently active. When the desired channel is indicated, a contact closure at the Stop terminal block will pause the scanning. The yellow LED for the current channel will flash 3 times indicating that scanning has stopped. The user may now activate the associated SSR by dry contact closure at the Act terminal block. The board will stay on this channel until a contact closure occurs at the Start terminal block at which time the scanning will resume where it last stopped.

This controller consists of 3 boards - a Main Board, a Relay Board and a Switch Board - that will allow the user to control the operation of 12 high current SPDT relays as toggled and/or latched relays.

The switch board is connected to the Main Board by a 6-foot ribbon cable. The Relay board is connected to the Main Board by a 3-foot ribbon cable.

On the Main Board, there is a 12-position DIP switch that allows the user to individually set how each relay will operate when triggered. This can be either momentary or toggle. Momentary means that the relay will only actuate as long as the associated input on the Switch Board is closed. Toggle means that when the associated input on the Switch Board is closed, the relay will change state ­ on or off ­ and remain in that state until the input is closed again.

There are LEDs on the Relay board that will light when the associated relay is activated. There are also small tactile switches for each relay that will allow you to test the associated relay. The Switch Board has 12 terminal blocks to attach a dry-contact closure switch or relay contact. There is also an additional terminal block that will actuate all 12 relays. All relays that are in Momentary Mode will actuate as long as the contacts of this terminal are closed. All relays that are in Toggle Mode will change state.

Power to the whole system is applied to the 2.1mm barrel connector or adjacent terminal block located on the Main Board. The system requires 12VDC at 2A minimum.

Power can be supplied to the board via the 2.1 mm barrel connector or the Alternate Power terminal block.

R/C Duo Board Switcher

The R/C - Wizard Servo Switch board will switch 1-6 individual servo PWM signals coming from a standard R/C receiver or all 6 individual servo PWM signals coming from a Wizard Board to 6 shared common servo lines when switched on / off by R/C transmitter-receiver Aux Ch.

The user will manually control 1-6 servos by operating the R/C transmitter
as a normal R/C system. When the user activates R/C Transmitter Ch -AUX ON, the control board will automatically switch all servo lines from the R/C Transmitter-servo operation to the Wizard Board operation and will trigger the Wizard board to playback pre recorded routine to the shared 6 channel servos.

When Ch-AUX of the R/C transmitter-receiver is de-activated it will switch all 6 channels from the Wizard Board back to the R/C transmitter-receiver control for manual operation of the 1-6 shared servos.

NOTE: This controller may be used with other PWM devices such as a second R/C Transmitter, or other controller boards.

R/C 2-Ch Servo / Relay Multiplexer Controller

This board allows the use of an RC controller to select outputs for two servo inputs and control two SS relays. The Servo outputs and relays are controlled separately. Two servo inputs can be output to 6 different outputs. The RC joystick allows the user to select which of the 6 outputs to send the two servo inputs to. Moving the joystick left decrements the channel, moving it right increments the channel. The channel number selected is displayed on a 7 segment LED display. Once a channel has been selected, a 2 second time delay is started before enabling the outputs. After the delay has expired, the Channel Active Indicator (decimal point on LED Display) lights and the incoming servo signals are routed to the selected outputs. Power for the servos can be supplied by a single power supply (by inserting the shorting block next to the servo connector), or any servo can have a separate power source. This is attached at the terminal block just above the servo connector. In this case, the shorting block must be removed. All servo signals are optically isolated from the inputs.

The relays are also controlled by RC joysticks. Each relay is controlled by a separate joystick. Moving either joystick to the right will activate the associated relay. When the joystick is returned to the center, the relay is deactivated.

The board is powered by 12VDC and is attached to the Power Input Terminal block or the 2.1mm Power Jack. A terminal block is also supplied to allow the attachment of a remote switch which will bypass the on-board switch.

This unique board controls the movement of 6 servos as random adjustable, with min and max servo settings set by the user.

The Controller uses 1 master microprocessor and 6 servo microprocessors to operate from. This board is excellent, wherever automated random servo movements are needed.

Controller has remote trigger for remote activation, on board LCD, buttons to set and program variables, Power On and Off switch with LED On indicator, Wire terminal blocks, power jack for easy hook-up. Servo connection header pins, and terminal blocks.

Random 8-Channel Solid State Relay Control Board

This unique board will allow the control of 8 Solid State relays in four modes of operation. Each relay has a test button and indicator. There are 2 potentiometers that will control the on times and off times (as appropriate) of the relays. Two Mode Indicators will indicate which of the 4 modes is selected. For each of the relays, there is a terminal block for the contacts. Also, all relay contacts are brought to a 16-pin ribbon cable connector for remote output use.

5Vdc +/- Input Duo Solid State Relay Interface Board

This board allows the control of two solid state relays with an incoming voltage signal that ranges from ­5V to +5V DC. When the voltage signal drops below ­2V DC, the left relay actuates and the Bicolor LED glows green. The relay will stay actuated as long as the voltage stays at or below ­2V DC. When the voltage signal rises above ­2V DC, Relay 1 will deactivate. When the voltage signal rises above +2V DC, Relay 2 will actuate and the bicolor LED will glow red. The relay will stay actuated as long as the voltage stays at or above +2V DC. When the voltage signal drops below +2V DC, Relay 2 will deactivate. When the voltage is between ­2V and +2V DC, neither relay will be activated.

The board requires a power source capable of delivering 7.5 to 24V DC which is connected to the board via a 2.1mm power connector. The power LED will illuminate when the power switch is turned on.

R/C Servo 2 Channel Solid State Relay Interface Board
with Duo Control Options

This board allows the activation of two Solid State 1-Amp Relays by using the standard R/C Transmitter joystick. It has 4 modes of operation that are selected by the placement of 2 jumpers. The board is powered by the +5V coming from the servo connector.

Mode 1: Pulse Mode
When the joystick is moved to the left, Relay 1 activates and stays activated as long as the joystick stays in the left position. When the joystick returns to the center position, the relay deactivates. When the joystick is moved to the right, Relay 2 is activated and stays activated as long as the joystick stays in the right position. When the joystick returns to the center position, the relay deactivates.

Mode 2: Toggle Mode
When the joystick is moved to the left, Relay 1 is activated (toggled on) and stays on even when the joystick is returned to the center position. The relay is deactivated (toggled off) by moving the joystick to the left a second time. When the joystick is moved to the right, Relay 2 is activated (toggled on) and stays on even when the joystick is returned to the center position. The relay is deactivated (toggled off) by moving the joystick to the right a second time.

Mode 3: Double Pulse Mode
When the joystick is moved to either the right or left, both relays are activated at the same time and stay activated as long as the joystick is in the left or right position. As soon as the joystick returns to the center position, both relays are deactivated.

Mode 4: Double Toggle Mode
When the joystick is moved to either the right or left, both relays are toggled on and remain on when the joystick is returned to the center position. When the joystick is moved to either the right or left position a second time, both relays are toggled off.

Automated Duo Controller

This unique board will allow the control of 4 servos manually via remote 10K potentiometers or by Wizard -1 Board control. The input (pots or Wizard Board) is selected by on-board slide switch or dry contact closure to the Remote Input Selection terminal block. When switched to (M)anual, the 4 servos are independently controlled by the remotely mounted pots. Minimum and maximum limits can be set for each servo but these limits are only in effect when the board is in (M)anual control. When in (W)izard mode, the Wizard Board will handle limits for the servos. There is an on-board SS relay that can either be activated by dry contact closure at the Remote Relay Trigger terminal block or by pressing the small pushbutton located next to the relay.

This unique BPE exclusive small custom controller board was designed to operate a standard R/C servo in several user modes. Mode one is running the servo to a programmed minimum and maximum limit by the push of button 1 or 2. The user can activate button 3 to play back a previously recorded user sequence of servo movement (up to 15 minutes recorded time).

Three Buttons on the control board or remote buttons determine what the servo will do ­ (1) move to the minimum position, (2) move to the maximum position or to (3) continuously loop the user recorded sequence. On board potentiometer / program button and EEPROM allow user to record and store servo routine needed (15 minutes )

The servo is connected to the board either by the 3-pin servo connector or by the servo terminal block. The board requires a power source 7.5V dc to 9V dc at 800 mA or greater. Power can be hooked to the board either by a 2.1mm power connector or by the alternate power terminal wire block.

Tri-Color LED 8-Channel FX Controller

This unique board will control eight Bi-Color LEDs and effects.

There are 3 modes of operation that can be selected. In Mode 1, the LEDs are strobed on and off. In Mode 2, the LEDs are faded on and off. In Mode 3, the LEDs are either full on or off. The color of the LEDs is selected by dry contact closure of the Remote Green LED Trigger or the Remote Red LED Trigger terminals. There is also an on-board pushbutton that can be used to select the LED color. In Modes 1 and 2, when both triggers are activated simultaneously, the colors jump back and forth (Red / Green). In Modes 1 and 2, the rates of strobing or fading can be adjusted by using the Mode 1 or Mode 2 speed potentiometers. The rates at which the colors jump back and forth in Modes 1 and 2 is determined by the on-board potentiometers

16- FX LED Controller

This unique board will allow the control of eight channels of remote DC lights (LED or incandescent) in 16 different lighting effects. Each channel is capable of driving up to 200 mA of lighting. An on-board LED for each channel indicates that the channel is active. A 16-Position Mode Selection switch allows the user to select which sequence will be active. The selected sequence will begin immediately upon power-up and will continue until the power is removed from the board. There are 2 potentiometers on the board that allow the user to control the rate of the selected sequence.
The board has an on-board On/Off switch and a terminal block that allows the connection of a remote On/Off switch. Power can be supplied to the board via the 2.1mm power connector or the adjacent terminal block. Power should be provided that is sufficient to drive the board and all of the eight light channels (~2A max). There are 2 SS relays on the board that activate as soon as power is supplied to the board also for driving sound effect boards, or controller boards.

Special Effect Operation:
Mode 1 ­ Marquee A:
All channels start off. Channels 1 through 8 will then light up in sequence until all 8 channels are lit. Then all channels go off and then repeats.
Mode 2 ­ Marquee B: All channels start off. Channels 8 through 1 will then light up in sequence until all 8 channels are lit. Then all channels go off and then repeats (reverse of Mode 1).
Mode 3 ­ Marquee C: All channels start on. Then channels 1 through 8 will go off in sequence until all channels are off and then repeat.
Mode 4 ­ Marquee D: All channels start on. Then channels 8 through 1 will go off in sequence until all channels are off and then repeat (reverse of Mode 3).
Mode 5 ­ Cylon Effect: A single channel rasters back and forth.
Mode 6 ­ Reverse Cylon Effect: All channels are on with one channel being off that rasters back and forth (reverse of Mode 5).
Mode 7 ­ Knight Rider: All channels start off. Channels come on starting at channel 1 going to channel 8. When all channels are on, the channels begin turning off starting at channel 8 going down to channel 1.
Mode 8 ­ Strobe All: All channels strobe on and off in unison.
Mode 9 ­ Fade All: All channels will fade on and off in unison.
Mode 10 ­ Random Flash: Channels will flash randomly.
Mode 11 ­ Random Fade: Channels will randomly fade on and off.
Mode 12 ­ Heart Beat: All Channels will flash like a heartbeat. Rate Pot 1 will control the time between the 2 short flashes and Rate Pot 2 will control the overall rate of the heartbeat.
Mode 13 ­ Railroad Crossing Signal: Channels 1 ­ 4 and channels 5 ­ 8 will flash alternately.
Mode 14 ­ R2D2: Channels 1 ­ 4 will flash in unison at a rate controlled by Rate Pot 1. Channels 5 ­ 8 will flash in unison at a rate controlled by Rate Pot 2.
Mode 15 ­ Fireworks: Channels 1 through 7 will fade up and down in sequence. Then channel 8 will flash twice. Rate Pot 1 controls the rate of channel 1 ­ 7 and Rate Pot 2 controls the rate of the 2 flashes on channel 8.
Mode 16 ­ All On: All Channels on continuously.

RC lighting

Radio Controller Receiver LED Effects Board

This unique board will allow use of a RC joystick or any wizard board servo output to control eight channels of remote DC lights (LED or incandescent) in 2 different sequences. Each channel is capable of driving up to 200 mA of lighting. An on-board LED for each channel indicates that the channel is active. Two on-board SS relays ­ one for each sequence - will also activate depending on which sequence is selected. A Mode Selection Switch will allow the user to toggle between Momentary On or Toggle On/Off modes. For example, with the Mode switched to Mode 1 (Momentary On), when the RC joystick is tilted to the left, Sequence 1 will start and Relay 1 will activate. Sequence 1 and Relay 1 will continue to be active as long as the joystick stays in the left position. When the joystick is in the center position, neither sequence will be selected. In Mode 2 (Toggle On/Off), when the joystick is tilted to the left and then returned to the center position, Sequence 1 will start and Relay 1 will activate. The sequence will continue and the relay will stay activated as long as the joystick remains in the center position. To stop this sequence, the user must tilt the joystick to the left a second time, toggling the sequence off. The same applies for Sequence 2. There are 2 potentiometers on board, one for each sequence that allows the user to control the rate of each sequence. The board has an on-board On/Off switch. Power to the board is supplied by the 5V line of the RC Servo connection and should have sufficient current to drive the board and all of the eight light channels (~2A max).

Sequence 1 ­ Cylon Effect:
When the Joystick is tilted to the left, Relay 1 actuates and a single channel rasters back and forth. Rate 1 Potentiometers will control the rate of the rastering.

Sequence 2 ­ Strobe:
When the Joystick is tilted to the right, Relay 2 actuates and all channels strobe on and off in unison. Rate 2 Potentiometer will control the rate of the channel strobing.

This programmable board setup allows user to control a Solid State dimmer used with AC Lighting. This board was designed to keep track of the number of "hits" that occur to a target sensor and once this number equals the user-programmed target total, the board will activate 2 solid state relays, a 2A relay and a 10A relay, for a user-programmed amount of time (times are independent). After both relays have timed out, the board can reset automatically and start registering hits again from the beginning or wait until the user manually starts the counting process.

User input, status and count information are displayed on a 4 X 20 character backlit LCD display. All information entered by the user is store in non-volatile memory. This board controls 3 separate events ­ a "Start #1" that happened as

Programmable PIR Solid State Relay Switch

This unique board was designed with control logic and variable timing options to activate a solid state relay by a remote PIR sensor.
(PIR= Passive InfraRed )

When the PIR is activated, the on board solid state 1 Amp relay will come on for a period of time that can range from 1 second to 2.5 minutes and will then go off for a period of time that can range from 2 seconds to 5 minutes. These adjustable time periods are set by two on-board user adjusted potentiometers. During the two time periods, the board can not be triggered again. (This works well to prevent re-triggering an event until visitors have moved out of the effects area)
There is an on-board LED that indicates when the relay is activated. (This LED can be disabled by removing the shorting block located next to it. This will enable sensor to work unseen in dark rooms).
The PIR is connected to the board via a 3 position terminal block so that it may be located away from the board.
PIR sense distance = 2 to 20 feet
The board will work at voltages between 7.5V and 24VDC.

(Board will also work very well with a 9 Vdc Battery, making it total remote sensor not connected to any wall power supply)

PIR 4- Channel Solid State Relay Programmable Switch

This unique board was designed to allow the control of 4 Solid State relays either sequentially or randomly when a single PIR is activated.

The length of time that the selected relay stays on and then stays off is controlled by 2 on-board potentiometers. When the board is triggered by the PIR, the REM Relay is pulsed for 90 mS and then the selected relay will be activated for the time set by the On-Time pot (1 Sec to 3 Min). When the time expires, the relay will go off for the time set by the Off-Time pot (1 Sec to 10 Min). During the off time, (Wait) a yellow LED will flash once per second until the time expires. This indicates that the board is in the Off Mode (Waiting) and can not be re-triggered again by the PIR until the time has expired.

When the board is first powered up, a 15 second period (as indicated by the Timing LED) will expire before allowing the board to be triggered by the PIR. This allows the PIR to warm up and prevents false triggering when the board is first powered on.

The board can operate in 2 different modes ­ Sequential and Random.
The 2 modes are selected by a small slide switch on the board. When Sequential mode is selected, every time the board is triggered, the next relay up will be activated. When it gets to the 4th relay, it will start over with the 1st relay. In Random Mode, the relay to be activated is randomly picked each time the board is triggered.

The REM Relay Pulse is used to trigger a Wizrd or Puppet in automated playback when connected.

The board will work at voltages between 7.5V and 12VDC.

R/C Servo Controlled Motor Relay Control Module

This unique board was designed to allow the directional control of a DC motor by using a R/C servo output channel (PWM Signal).

Two modes of operation are provided and are selected by the on board Mode Switch. Toggle On and Off and Latching On and Off Control

The board is powered by the servo connection, but separate power must be provided for the DC motor.
There are 2 on-board 10A mechanical relays that work in conjunction to reverse the polarity of the power being supplied to the DC motor that is attached at the Motor Connection Terminal block.

The board takes standard servo input and when the input signal is signaling for full CW servo movement, Relay 1 activates, providing DC power to the motor. When the servo input is signaling for full CCW servo movement, Relay 1 deactivates and Relay 2 activates, reversing the polarity of the DC power to the motor.

The 4 Ch Sound Switcher is designed to take a single sound source and switch it to 1-4 different output channels under I/O control with 4 relays. The Sound Switcher can be used with a CD player, Digital Sound Boards or any other audio source signal

10 Channel MP3 Audio Controller

Here is a very simple audio controller that when triggered by pressing the single on-board button or by dry contact closure at the trigger terminal, will cause the player to play back 1 to 10 MP3 files that are stored on a USB flash device (USB pen drive not included). These MP3 files can be of any size up to the capacity of the USB flash device. You can have any number of files up to 10 on the flash device.

There are 2 modes of operation provided ­ Sequential and Random.

In Sequential Mode, the player will play the files back sequentially from file000.mp3 to file009.mp3 (or whatever your last file is), one file at a time each time the board is triggered. After it has played the last file, it will go back to file000.mp3 and start over.

In Random Mode, it will pick one of the files to play back at random. It will pick a new file each time the board is triggered. The board will wait until the file has finished playing before it can be activated again.

Remote Sensor boards can be added to trigger the audio playback board automatically, or manual switch can be used to start playback

This MP3 controller can be used in a prop, with an animatronic character, puppets, information display exhibit , at museums, zoos, as public information boards and other areas to play very high quality stereo audio sound every time it is activated.

10 Channel MP3 - Modular System

This advanced expandable MP3 stereo audio10-Channel full function control system, allows the designer the option to use the base MP3 stereo board stand alone or to add and mix different output function boards for specific applications as needed. Audio, Video and Solid State Relays 10-channel boards can be connected to the main MP3 playback board and will switch on and off as each audio channel is selected and played back from the base playback module. Any remote board combinations can be connected to the main Audio Playback board.

When the main MP3 audio control board is triggered by activating the remote channel 1-10 switch board or by dry contact closure (Relay), this will cause the player board to playback 1 to 10 MP3 files selected that are stored on a USB flash device and turn on each added remote control Video, Sound, Solid State Relay board attached by a ribbon connector. Each remote board will also activate a channel corresponding to the main audio channel selected 1-10

The audio (Stereo) MP3 files can be of any size up to the capacity of the USB flash device. You can have any number of files up to 10 on the flash device.

The remote boards (Ch1-10) will stay activated for as long as the sound file is playing. It will pick a new file each time the board is triggered. The board will wait until the file has finished playing before it can be activated again.

This MP3 controller can be used in a prop, animatronic character, puppets, information display exhibit to play very high quality stereo audio sound every time it is activated and activate remote lighting, effects, animatronic controllers or other devices connected to the remote function boards.

Several board configuration setup options are available.
