This project involved using a Palm (IIIxe) PDA and an IR interface module as a remote
wireless controller to operate a small gondola unit outfitted with three (3) micro motors
and props attached to a helium filled balloon.
Using custom Palm software, you control the motion of the Blimp Module vehicle by using the stylus to pointing on motion buttons, setup to represent the different motions of altitude up, down, yaw left and right control, motor /prop speed control, forward, reverse, and stopping motion.Activities including racing, balloon tag and flight combat, user created obstacle courses and rescue missions involving lifting small plastic figures from dangerous environments, all while sitting down with your Plam PDA in your hand.
