Unique board uses a laser beam to activate a small relay that will provide a contact closure for 2 separate devices. There are Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC) contacts available.

Laser triggering is more precise than a PIR or ultrasonic sensor.
The laser is pointed at a small target (CDS Cell) and when the beam is broken, the relay activates and stays activated as long as the beam is broken. When connected to a Wizard Board will trigger the board when sensor is first activated each time. (Note: Beam does not need to be broken and held open to activate Wizard Boards).

The laser module can be located at probably greater than 20 feet from the sensor and will work in fairly bright ambient light.

The laser module can be powered from the main board or powered separately by battery (5V or greater), if it is inconvenient to run wires from the main board. The CDS Cell is also attached to the main board by 2 wires that can be as long as you wish for easy placement. The main board requires a power source of 7.5V DC or greater and can be attached to the board via a 2.1mm barrel-type connector or two-terminal terminal block.
LASER board and CDS sensor board is included.

LASER Caution Note

This board was designed to control the CW and CCW rotation of a DC Motor / Linear Motor attached to the 2 mechanical relays (10 Amp) when either of 2 laser beams are broken. The lasers are pointed at a CDS cell. There is a Test Switch that allows you to adjust the aiming and sensitivity of the beams. When in the test mode, 2 on-board LEDs will light when the respective beam is broken. In this mode the relays are disabled. When the board is in the run mode, the 2 relays will toggle on and off every time a beam is broken. When a motor is attached, the relays will cause it to spin either clockwise or counter-clockwise when a beam is broken. There are limit switches for each direction to stop the motor when it is activated. There is a delay pot that will prevent the relays from toggling for a specified amount of time. This is to prevent rapid re-triggering. There is provisions for powering the 2 lasers from the main board or they can be powered remotely by another power source (wall-wart or battery) at 5VDC.

Remote Sensor RF Board Interface

Connect a switch or sensor to the input trigger on the RF remote transmitter and you have a wireless RF Remote sensor system. When the switch, sensor is activated the RF transmitter sends a signal to an RF receiver, where a remote relay is activated. The RF remote relay is activated ON as long as the RF transmitter sends a signal (LED status indicators built on board) and then turns OFF when no RF signal is received.

Multiple RF Receiver relays can be used to allow switching several devices remotely from a single RF Transmitter signal.
RF Transmitter and Receiver address can be set by on board 8 position DIP switches with 256 different addresses possibilities.
(256 pairs of RF Transmitters and RF Receivers operating simultaneously connected to different devices)

Sound Activated Relay Module

Board accepts audio input from any non-amplified sound source (computer, CD player, or Digital Sound Board) and when the volume reaches a certain level, it activates an on board 10 Amp relay. The relay can be used to switch another device on and off in sync with the volume of the input. There is an on-board potentiometer that is used to adjust the sensitivity to the incoming sound. The board has two 1/8" phono jacks ­ one for input and one for output to an amplified speakers. An on board LED indicates the level of the sound volume. Board operates from 12 VDC power supply.

An example of this board's use would be to simulate lightning by flashing a bright light to the sound track of thunder.

Digital Potentiometer Board

This unique board is a digital rheostat or potentiometer using the Dallas Semiconductor series of digital potentiometers. Like a manual turned potentiometer, this potentiometer board is controller by using digital signals pulses instead. This digital potentiometer provides 64 possible uniform tap points over the entire resistive range of the potentiometer output.

The digital potentiometer board is controlled by either remote manual switch inputs, on board push button switches or remote relay closure.
Quick connection wire terminal and power jack make setup easy
Potentiometer output connection is standard Low, Wiper and High contact through the digital potentiometer.
Remote Switch, Relay pass through power (5VDC) is provided by the on board circuit directly for use with these remote devices. LED Status lights on board indicate which direction the potentiometer is moving at High, Low.

NOTE:
The maximum wiper current allowed through the digital potentiometer semiconductor IC is 1 milliamp.

Ultrasonic Switch

 

This board uses a sonar transducer to measure distance, to the nearest inch, between it and another object.

When the object gets to within a specified distance, a SS relay will activate for a specified amount of time. The distance and time settings are entered via a menu that is displayed on a back-lit LCD.
The sonar board is attached to the main board via a length of telephone cable which allows the remote positioning of the sonar board. The board can be triggered by pressing the Go/Enter pushbutton or by a dry contact closure attached to the Trig terminal block.

The board can be powered with a DC voltage of 7.5V to 24V and has a slide switch to turn on and off the power.

Programmable PIR Solid State Relay Switch

This unique board was designed with control logic and variable timing options to activate a solid state relay by a remote PIR sensor.
(PIR= Passive InfraRed )

When the PIR is activated, the on board solid state 2 Amp relay will come on for a period of time that can range from 1 second to 2.5 minutes and will then go off for a period of time that can range from 2 seconds to 5 minutes. These adjustable time periods are set by two on-board user adjusted potentiometers. During the two time periods, the board can not be triggered again. (This works well to prevent re-triggering an event until visitors have moved out of the effects area)
There is an on-board LED that indicates when the relay is activated. (This LED can be disabled by removing the shorting block located next to it. This will enable sensor to work unseen in dark rooms).
The PIR is connected to the board via a 3 position terminal block so that it may be located away from the board.
PIR sense distance = 2 to 20 feet
The board will work at voltages between 7.5V and 24VDC.

(Board will also work very well with a 9 Vdc Battery, making it total remote sensor not connected to any wall power supply)

PIR 4- Channel Solid State Relay Programmable Switch

This unique board was designed to allow the control of 4 Solid State relays either sequentially or randomly when a single PIR is activated.

The length of time that the selected relay stays on and then stays off is controlled by 2 on-board potentiometers. When the board is triggered by the PIR, the REM Relay is pulsed for 90 mS and then the selected relay will be activated for the time set by the On-Time pot (1 Sec to 3 Min). When the time expires, the relay will go off for the time set by the Off-Time pot (1 Sec to 10 Min). During the off time, (Wait) a yellow LED will flash once per second until the time expires. This indicates that the board is in the Off Mode (Waiting) and can not be re-triggered again by the PIR until the time has expired.

When the board is first powered up, a 15 second period (as indicated by the Timing LED) will expire before allowing the board to be triggered by the PIR. This allows the PIR to warm up and prevents false triggering when the board is first powered on.

The board can operate in 2 different modes ­ Sequential and Random.
The 2 modes are selected by a small slide switch on the board. When Sequential mode is selected, every time the board is triggered, the next relay up will be activated. When it gets to the 4th relay, it will start over with the 1st relay. In Random Mode, the relay to be activated is randomly picked each time the board is triggered.

The REM Relay Pulse is used to trigger a Wizrd or Puppet in automated playback when connected.

The board will work at voltages between 7.5V and 12VDC.

Hall Effect Sensor- Latching Solid State Relay

When a magnet is placed near the remote Hall Effect Sensor, the controller will activate the on board 2 Amp Solid State Relay to the ON state. The relay will stay on when the magnet is removed away from the HE sensor. When the magnet is placed near the Hall Effect Sensor, the controller will activate the on board 2 Amp Solid State Relay to the OFF state.
The controller board has a wire terminal input block, on board logic control and LED status indicator when SS relay is activated. (This LED can be disabled by removing the shorting block located next to it. This will enable sensor to work unseen in dark rooms). Hall Effect sensor is on remote board and can be located away from the controller board.

The Hall Effect sensor board makes a great hidden remote switch, and work well in model, props, animatronics, magic tricks, where no sign of a switch will be seen.

Programmable Ultrasonic Solid State Relay Switch

This unique board was designed to control a programmable solid state 2 amp relay by a remote attached MaxBotix Sonar Sensor, set by the user to trigger at a specific distance.

The sensor distance can be set from 1 to 12 feet. The distance from the sensor that will trigger the relay is determined by 3 jumpers on the board. When the object moves to within the distance selected, the relay will come on for a period of time that can range from 1 second to 3 minutes and will then go off for a period of time that can range from 1 seconds to 5 minutes. These times are set by two on-board adjustable potentiometers. During the two time periods, the board can not be triggered again.
Sensor Detection Range: Adjustable from 1, 2, 4, 6, 8,10, 12 foot range.
There is an on-board LED that indicates when the relay is activated. This LED can be disabled (as can the board power LED) by removing the shorting block located next to it. This will enable it to work unseen in dark rooms.
